Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Shellfish Manager to oversee all aspects of shellfish cultivation, production, and management. This role is pivotal for ensuring the efficient operation of our shellfish farms and maintaining high standards of product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of shellfish production from hatchery to harvest.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of production, stock levels, and environmental conditions.
  • Assist in budgeting and financial management of the aquaculture operations.
  • Evaluate and implement sustainable agricultural practices to minimise environmental impact.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in farming techniques.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote the company’s sustainable practices.
  • Manage inventory and resources efficiently, ensuring optimal use.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new staff members as required.
  • Develop marketing strategies to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Respond to consumer feedback to ensure product quality and satisfaction.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Aquaculture or Marine Biology is preferred
Experience
  • Proven track record in managing shellfish operations and achieving production targets.
