As a Car Coupler, you will play a crucial role in the railway industry, responsible for coupling and uncoupling railcars, ensuring the smooth operation of train movements. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be paramount, as you inspect equipment and coordinate the safe movement of railcars.

Responsibilities

• Inspect train cars for damage and wear before coupling them.
• Communicate with engineers and conductors via radio or hand signals.
• Position cars correctly for loading and unloading.
• Monitor the movement of cars while in motion and report any problems.
• Apply handbrakes and wheel chocks to secure parked cars.
• Work collaboratively with the yard crew to ensure operational efficiency.
