Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Latin American Studies Professor to join our prestigious educational institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Latin American history, culture, politics, and literature, as well as engaging in scholarly research.

Responsibilities

  • Lead classes and seminars focused on Latin American topics.
  • Mentor students and supervise research projects.
  • Publish research findings in leading academic journals.
  • Participate in departmental committees and initiatives.
  • Engage with the wider community to promote Latin American Studies.
  • Develop innovative teaching practices and methodologies.
  • Organize academic events, lectures, and conferences.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with external partners on projects related to Latin America.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts for research.

Requirements

Education
  • Ph.D. in Latin American Studies or a related field
  • Prior experience teaching at the university level
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Latin American Studies or related fields with a strong focus on research.
Technical Skills
  • Strong background in interdisciplinary research
  • Ability to integrate technology in teaching
Soft Skills

Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Portuguese: Proficient
