Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Reading. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of risk assessment. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risks, and determine coverage terms while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for new and renewal policies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance client experience.
• Prepare underwriting guidelines and ensure adherence to standards.
• Analyze claims data to identify patterns and improve underwriting practices.
• Assist in the development of new insurance products.
• Provide guidance in complex underwriting scenarios.
• Evaluate and optimize the use of underwriting software and tools.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in underwriting decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Economics, or a related field
• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in underwriting roles

• Financial Modelling
• Insurance Software Proficiency

• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Fellowship in Insurance or related certifications
• Completion of advanced underwriting courses

Languages

• English: Fluent
