Lighting Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Lighting Designer to join our team in Burnley. You will be responsible for designing lighting layouts and selecting appropriate fixtures to enhance various interior spaces. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and a strong understanding of light and its effects in architectural contexts.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop lighting plans in line with design vision.
• Review design changes and provide alternative solutions as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure design integrity.
• Implement sustainable and energy-efficient lighting strategies.
• Manage multiple projects and client expectations effectively.
• Train and mentor junior designers in lighting design principles.
• Gather feedback and iterate on designs based on client input.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, or related field
• Relevant certifications in lighting design preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in lighting design with a strong portfolio

Technical Skills

• 3D Rendering Software
• LEED Certification Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Client Relations

Certifications

• Certified Lighting Designer (CLD)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Lighting Design Software: Strong skills in software like DIALux or AGi32.
• Experience with Lighting Control Systems: Knowledge of integrated lighting control systems.
