Job Description

As a Structural Engineer at Engineering Experts Ltd., you will play a key role in designing and overseeing construction projects throughout Edinburgh and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of engineering principles and practical experience in creating safe and sustainable structures. You'll collaborate with architects and other engineers to bring innovative designs to life, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Research and incorporate innovative materials and techniques into designs.
• Supervise the work of other engineers and draftspersons as necessary.
• Utilize software tools to model and simulate structural behaviour.
• Prepare project budgets and timelines and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on ongoing projects.

Requirements

Education

• BSc in Civil Engineering or related field
• MSc in Structural Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in structural engineering roles with project management experience

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Certified Structural Engineer (CSE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software: Hands-on experience with CAD and BIM applications in design.
• Experience with LEED certification processes: Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification.
