Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Orchestra Leader to bring exceptional musical expertise to our prestigious orchestra. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of various musical styles, and the ability to inspire and guide our team of talented musicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead rehearsals, ensuring high performance standards.
• Direct the orchestra during live performances.
• Assist in the interpretation of musical scores.
• Mentor musicians and assist in skill development.
• Participate in community outreach and engagement programs.
• Organise and coordinate performance schedules.
• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback to orchestra members.
• Collaborate on programming and repertoire selection.
• Maintain a positive and productive rehearsal environment.
• Foster an atmosphere of creativity and innovation within the orchestra.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Music or Music Education is preferred

Experience

• Experience working with renowned conductors and guest soloists

Technical Skills

• Strong sight-reading and music theory skills
• Proficiency in music notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale)

Soft Skills

• Ability to adapt and respond to direction swiftly
• Passion for classical music and dedication to delivering outstanding performances

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with digital audio workstations (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro): Familiarity with audio production tools can enhance performance quality.
• Knowledge of recording and audio production software is advantageous: Understanding of sound engineering principles is a plus.
