Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Menhaden Vessel Pilot to join our team in Portsmouth. As a pilot, you will navigate and manoeuvre our menhaden vessels, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines while contributing to our fishing operations.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee and navigate menhaden vessels, ensuring compliance with marine laws and regulations.
• Conduct pre-departure checks on equipment and vessel readiness.
• Actively monitor changing weather conditions and adjust course as necessary.
• Engage with the crew to improve operational efficiency during fishing trips.
• Maintain accurate logs of vessel operations and conditions.
• Participate in emergency drills and safety training as required.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Maritime Pilot License
• STCW Certification

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a pilotage role with a focus on Menhaden fishing vessels.

Languages
