Laborer and Freight, Stock, and Material Mover, Hand

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laborer to assist in the movement and management of construction materials. As part of our onsite team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that materials are delivered and stored in the right locations efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Handle the safe loading and unloading of construction materials.
• Ensure that all materials are properly identified and stored in their designated areas.
• Help maintain documentation related to material shipments and deliveries.
• Support the Site Supervisor in daily operational tasks.
• Conduct regular checks on the condition of tools and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining safety protocols throughout the project.
• Collaborate with other laborers to move heavy objects as needed.
• Participate in safety briefings and training sessions regularly.
• Take responsibility for individual tasks assigned by the Site Supervisor.
• Contribute ideas for improving efficiency and safety in material handling.

Requirements

Education

• No formal education required, but GCSEs in Maths and English are preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in a laboring role preferred, but not essential.

Technical Skills

• Manual Handling
• Forklift Operation

Advantageous

• CSCS Card Holder: Possession of a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is a plus.
• Experience with Heavy Machinery: Prior experience operating heavy machinery is beneficial.
