Locomotive Engineer

Job Description

As a Locomotive Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of machinery within our advanced manufacturing facility. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the overall production process runs efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operation of machinery within the facility.
• Conduct inspections to identify any operational weaknesses.
• Assist with the training of junior engineers.
• Develop maintenance schedules and reports.
• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines.
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Qualified in Electrical Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial machinery operation

Technical Skills

• PLC programming
• SCADA systems
• AutoCAD

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Project Management Experience: Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
• Lean Manufacturing Principles: Understanding of Lean principles to optimise manufacturing processes.
