Juvenile Correctional Officer

Job Description

As a Juvenile Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining safety and security within our correctional facility. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about supporting the rehabilitation and development of young individuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and activities of juvenile offenders to promote a safe environment.
• Implement de-escalation techniques in crisis situations to prevent violence.
• Maintain clear communication with multidisciplinary teams to support youths' progress.
• Document and report any infractions or significant incidents as necessary.
• Engage in conflict resolution and mediation among juvenile offenders.
• Support educational and vocational programs aimed at rehabilitation.
• Monitor compliance with facility rules and follow-up on individual treatment plans.
• Provide mentorship and role model behaviour for juvenile offenders.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Criminology or Psychology is preferred

Experience

• Experience working with young offenders is preferable

Languages

• English: Fluent
