Job Description

As a Secondary Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in educating students with disabilities in a secondary school setting. You will develop and implement tailored learning experiences to support their academic and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance student learning experiences.
• Facilitate support sessions for students exhibiting challenging behaviours.
• Conduct regular meetings with parents to discuss student progress and strategies.
• Provide training and support for teaching assistants working with students with special needs.
• Utilise assistive technology to support learning.
• Engage with the local community to provide inclusive learning opportunities.
• Develop resources and materials that meet the specific needs of each student.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field
• Postgraduate qualification in Special Education is advantageous

Experience

• At least 1-3 years of teaching experience in a special education context.

Technical Skills

• Experience with assistive technology

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified Special Education Teacher (CSET)

Languages

• English: Fluent
