Taxation Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Taxation Specialist to join our team in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tax compliance and providing strategic advice to clients. You will work closely with individuals and businesses to ensure they meet their tax obligations efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of tax compliance for individuals and businesses.
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies to maximise financial efficiency.
• Prepare detailed tax returns and manage submissions to HMRC.
• Stay updated on changes to tax legislation and assess their impact on clients.
• Conduct audits and reviews of client tax documentation.
• Provide guidance on tax-efficient investment strategies.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with clients through excellent service.
• Support the implementation of tax policies and procedures within the firm.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar
• Professional qualification in taxation is beneficial

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in taxation roles

• Tax Law Knowledge

• Analytical Skills
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Taxation Certificate (ATT or CTA)
• Additional qualifications in finance are a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with tax audits and investigations: Familiarity with managing HMRC audits and disputes.
• Knowledge of corporate tax strategies: Strategic insights into corporate tax planning is a plus.
