Arborist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Arborist to join our team. The Arborist will be responsible for performing a wide range of tree care and maintenance tasks, ensuring the health and safety of trees, and contributing to the overall beautification of outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of tree health and implement appropriate care plans.
• Manage tree maintenance schedules and identify priority tasks.
• Engage with clients to discuss tree care options and provide expert recommendations.
• Facilitate training sessions for junior staff on safe tree care practices.
• Document all tree care activities and maintain records for compliance.
• Monitor and report on the health of urban forestry initiatives.
• Participate in community education programs about tree care and environmental stewardship.

Requirements

Education

• NPTC qualifications in aerial tree pruning
• Additional tree care certifications

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in tree surgery or rigging techniques

Technical Skills

• Rigging techniques
• Pesticide application

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Leadership

Certifications

• Advanced First Aid Certification
• LANTRA Tree Inspection Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional certifications in arboriculture: Professional development in tree care and environmental management.
