Job Description

As a Fishing and Hunting Worker, you will be responsible for harvesting, cleaning, and processing Irish moss, a vital resource in the aquaculture sector. The role requires a strong dedication to sustainability, compliance with regulations, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Collect Irish moss from rocky shores, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
• Process harvested moss to meet quality standards for various uses.
• Facilitate the safe transportation of moss to processing facilities.
• Conduct regular maintenance on harvesting vessels and tools.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure efficient and effective harvesting operations.
• Assist in problem-solving during harvesting activities.
• Engage in training sessions for new employees on best harvesting practices.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial fishing or aquaculture.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of seaweed biology and ecology
• Ability to operate boats and fishing equipment

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Valid driver’s license and boating certification
• Certification in sustainable aquaculture practices (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
