Job Description

As a Research Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in collecting blood samples from participants involved in clinical research studies. Your contribution is crucial in ensuring the integrity of our research data and helping advance our understanding of health and disease.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection as per study requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory and safety regulations while handling samples.
  • Create and update participant files with relevant documentation.
  • Work with the research team to refine collection methods and ensure ethical practices.
  • Support the training of new phlebotomy staff members as required.
  • Monitor participant responses during the blood collection process and address any discomfort.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy work areas.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance measures to uphold high data integrity.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of new protocols and techniques in phlebotomy.
  • Assist with statistical data entry related to blood sample test results.

Requirements

Education
  • Certified Phlebotomist
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Previous experience in a clinical or research setting preferred.
