Job Description

The Newscast Producer will be responsible for planning, producing, and directing live and pre-recorded news shows for television, radio, and online platforms. This role necessitates a strong editorial judgement and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of news packages and features to ensure high-quality output.
• Monitor the performance of the newscast and make adjustments as necessary to improve viewer engagement.
• Utilise newsroom computer systems to manage scripts and run orders effectively.
• Train junior producers and interns to enhance team capabilities.
• Lead team meetings to discuss news coverage plans and topics.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or communication
• Postgraduate qualification is desirable but not mandatory

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a news production role

• RTNDA Certification

Languages
