Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to enhance our Edinburgh office. You will play a pivotal role in assessing risks and setting premiums, whilst ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed risk analysis to support underwriting decisions.
  • Communicate underwriting decisions and rationale to clients.
  • Participate in risk assessment meetings and audits.
  • Utilize underwriting software to streamline processes.
  • Assess reinsurance needs and collaborate with reinsurers.
  • Train and mentor junior underwriters and new staff.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g., AIIC, CII)
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting
