Job Description

As a Fire Protection Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting buildings to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. You'll provide expert advice to building owners, helping them improve their fire safety measures. This role is crucial in maintaining public safety and preventing fire-related incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive fire risk assessments on various properties.
  • Implement and oversee fire drills and training for staff.
  • Monitor compliance with fire safety laws and regulations.
  • Report non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development of fire safety plans and emergency procedures.
  • Engage with clients to ensure a clear understanding of fire safety responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about new fire safety technologies and practices.
  • Utilize inspection management software to document findings.
  • Collaborate with contractors on fire protection system installations.
  • Mentor junior inspectors in fire safety principles.

Requirements

Education
  • A degree in fire safety engineering, building science, or a related field
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Institution of Fire Engineers
  • A valid driver's license

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
