Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will evaluate and assess risk for insurance applications, determining appropriate coverage levels and premiums. This role requires strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of market trends and regulations. You will work closely with brokers and clients to ensure that all underwriting standards are met and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret various data sources to aid decision-making.
  • Implement underwriting tools and software for efficiency.
  • Review and refine underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with claims department to understand claim trends.
  • Participate in underwriting meetings to discuss cases and strategies.
  • Provide training and support to junior underwriters.
  • Respond to queries related to underwriting and risk management.
  • Prepare valuation reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in audits and compliance checks.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field
  • Further qualifications in insurance or finance would be an advantage
Experience
  • 4+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance sector
