Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will assess and evaluate insurance applications, determining risk profiles and setting appropriate coverage limits. Your expertise will guide decision-making, ensuring informed underwriting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assess applications for a variety of insurance products.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with brokers.
  • Implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training to junior underwriters and support staff.
  • Prepare reports for management on underwriting performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed on market trends and their implications for underwriting.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field
  • Advanced qualifications in underwriting are preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in underwriting or insurance-related roles
