Job Description

As an Animal Control Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of domestic and wild animals in the community. The role involves responding to calls from the public, capturing animals, investigating reports of abuse, and educating the community on animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Handle reports from the public regarding animal-related incidents.
  • Safely apprehend and transport animals in distress.
  • Investigate and document cases of animal abuse and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Advocate for responsible pet ownership through community education.
  • Conduct inspections to enforce animal welfare regulations.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians in cases of animal health issues.
  • Keep accurate logs and data on captured and treated animals.
  • Assist in the development of community animal control initiatives.
  • Participate in workshops and training to improve handling techniques.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in animal behavior or welfare are advantageous.
Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in animal welfare or handling.
