Job Description

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and developing mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative engineering solutions to life.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs for new products and systems.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers to assess design for manufacturability.
  • Prepare and present design concepts and updates to engineering leadership.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support design decisions.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives through design optimization.
  • Utilize simulation tools to analyze performance and reliability of designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers in best practices and design methodologies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Master's degree in related engineering discipline is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive sector
