Job Description

We are seeking a committed and skilled Special Education Itinerant Teacher to provide tailored instructional support to students with disabilities. Your role will involve working closely with classroom teachers and parents to ensure that each child receiving special education services receives the individualised attention they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IEPs tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Deliver instruction that includes direct teaching and support in classroom settings.
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers to modify lesson plans to accommodate diverse learners.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to guide improvement.
  • Engage with parents regularly to discuss progress and strategies for home support.
  • Ensure compliance with special education regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings regarding student progress and development.
  • Actively seek out and employ new tools and resources to aid student learning.
  • Assist in professional training to enhance the skills of classroom staff working with special needs students.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Special Education
  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education is a plus
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a special education setting
