Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Mining Safety Engineer to oversee safety protocols in our operations. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in safety engineering, specifically within the mining industry, and will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead safety meetings and workshops to reinforce safety culture.
• Review and update safety documentation in line with regulatory changes.
• Assist in the preparation of safety budgets and resource plans.
• Engage with external agencies and regulators to ensure compliance.
• Actively promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organisation.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or related field
• Professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety engineering or related roles, specifically in mining
