Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Towboat Pilot to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely navigating towboats and overseeing the transportation of various cargoes on the waterways. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Navigate towboats to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with shore personnel for cargo management.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust plans as necessary.
• Document all operations, including incidents and cargo details.
• Conduct pre-departure and post-arrival inspections.
• Implement and uphold safety measures and procedures.
• Ensure the vessel meets all safety and operational standards.
• Participate in ongoing training for skills enhancement.
• Collaborate with team members to promote a safe work environment.

Requirements

Education

• Valid UK Towboat Pilot License
• First Aid and CPR certification

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Towboat Pilot

Certifications

• Additional maritime certifications preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience operating in tidal waters: Knowledge of navigating in tidal waters is an asset.
