Job Description

As a Hebrew Cantor, you'll lead the musical aspects of worship services, engaging with our congregation to create profound and uplifting experiences. Your role is crucial in maintaining the spiritual well-being of our community, allowing everyone to connect deeply with their faith.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct services and lead congregational singing.
  • Choose and arrange music that complements the worship themes.
  • Work closely with the Rabbi and assistant clergy during services.
  • Facilitate choir rehearsals and enhance the musical talent within the community.
  • Assist in the planning of high holiday services.
  • Establish a connection with the congregation to foster a sense of community.
  • Conduct music workshops for members and youth.
  • Provide theological insights woven into musical selections.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Music, Theology, or related field
  • Experience in community leadership.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a religious setting
Technical Skills
  • Ability to play musical instruments
  • Experience with music composition software

Certifications

Languages
