Reformatory Attendant

Job Description

The Reformatory Attendant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and maintaining security within the facility. They will ensure the safety and well-being of inmates while facilitating rehabilitation programs. This role is vital in promoting personal growth and reducing recidivism.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment.
• Provide support and guidance to inmates during their rehabilitation journey.
• Engage with external agencies and community organisations for rehabilitation efforts.
• Conduct inmate evaluations and provide progress reports.
• Participate in community outreach to promote awareness of rehabilitation programs.
• Support the administration with operational tasks as required.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Further education in criminal justice or sociology is advantageous

Experience

• Relevant experience in a corrections environment is preferred but not essential.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Rehabilitation Techniques

• Active Listening

Certifications

• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Additional security certifications (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
