Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Plate Grinder to join our team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for grinding and smoothing surfaces of metal plates to achieve precise specifications. Attention to detail and precision are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Adjust grinding machines based on specifications to meet production needs.
• Conduct quality checks on plates post-grinding to maintain standardisation.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions during operation.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals and improvements.
• Assist with inventory management of materials and grinding equipment.
• Follow safety procedures rigorously and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

Education

• A relevant vocational training or apprenticeship is highly advantageous.

Experience

• Experience in the metal fabrication or manufacturing industry preferred.

Technical Skills

• Experience with different types of metal plates and alloys
• Basic computer skills

Soft Skills

• Good physical stamina
• Excellent communication skills

Advantageous

• Familiarity with CNC technology: Experience operating CNC machines for metal fabrication.
• Experience in a high-paced production environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
