We are seeking a meticulous News Copy Editor who will ensure the accuracy, clarity, and correctness of news articles before they are published. The ideal candidate will collaborate with journalists and editors to deliver top-notch news content.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit copy for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
• Support the editorial team in managing deadlines and publication schedules.
• Communicate effectively with reporters to facilitate content completion.
• Guide junior editors and interns in editorial practices.
• Prepare content for various formats including print and online.
• Assist in training staff on editorial guidelines and best practices.
• Monitor news trends and audience engagement metrics to inform editorial choices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or Communications
• Relevant certifications (e.g., proofreading, editing) are a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a media organisation

Technical Skills

• Content Management Systems (CMS)
• AP Style Guidelines

Languages

• English: Fluent
