Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our talented team in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and experience working on a variety of engineering projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototypes and oversee testing for mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain compliance with ISO quality standards throughout the design and manufacturing processes.
• Implement best practices in design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with engineering solutions.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineering staff.
• Participate in customer meetings to discuss project specifications and requirements.
• Contribute to bids and proposals by providing technical input.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Engineering License or similar certification is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development

• AutoCAD
• Project Management Software

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Green Belt in Six Sigma is a plus
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficient in 3D CAD software tools: Experience with CATIA or similar tools for design.
