Job Responsibilities
  • Gather Irish Moss from designated coastal locations, prioritising sustainability.
  • Select mature and healthy samples while preserving the ecosystem.
  • Ensure all gathered products meet company quality standards.
  • Record daily harvest data including quantities and locations.
  • Follow health and safety procedures to protect yourself and the environment.
  • Work with the team to improve harvesting techniques and efficiency.
  • Maintain all harvesting tools and report any necessary repairs.
  • Conduct training sessions for new team members on safe harvesting practices.
Job Requirements
  • No formal qualifications required. On-the-job training provided.
  • Physical fitness Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail Skillful in observing and ensuring quality in harvested products.
  • Knowledge of local marine environment Understanding of Irish Moss species and their habitats.
  • Effective communication Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Problem-solving Capable of addressing issues that arise during harvesting.
  • First Aid Certification
  • Boat Handling License (advantageous)
  • English (Fluent)

  • Knowledge of local regulations: Understanding of local laws regarding marine harvesting.
  • Experience operating small boats: Ability to navigate and handle small vessels safely.
