Job Description

As a Conveyor Operator at Woodland Processing Ltd., you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of wood chipping equipment. This role is crucial for transforming wood logs into high-quality wood chips while adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail and experience in operating similar machinery.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of wood chippers, ensuring logs are fed correctly to prevent jams.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure machinery is functioning properly.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and production metrics.
• Assist in training new employees on safe operating procedures.
• Participate in health and safety meetings and contribute to improvement initiatives.
• Work from heights to oversee chipper operations as required.
• Support the logging team with the preparation of logs for chipping.
• Implement quality control checks to ensure product consistency.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience as a chipper operator or in a similar role.
