Job Description

We are seeking a talented Cantor to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the congregation in prayer, chant, and singing during religious services. This role requires a deep understanding of religious texts and rituals.

Responsibilities

  • Train choir members and support individual vocal development.
  • Engage with the community to encourage participation in worship music.
  • Plan music selections to align with liturgical schedules and themes.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Perform solo and ensemble pieces as required during services.
  • Maintain professionalism and spiritual decorum in all aspects of worship.
  • Encourage and facilitate congregational singing.
  • Attend training and development workshops to improve musical skills.
  • Assist in administrative duties related to the music ministry.
  • Cultivate an inclusive atmosphere for members of the congregation.

Requirements

Education
  • Ordination as a Cantor from a recognized religious institution
  • Bachelor's degree in Music is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in musical leadership within a religious context
