Job Description

As a Tax Commissioner, you will oversee the processing and enforcement of tax laws and regulations. Your role is crucial in ensuring that taxes are collected on time, guiding taxpayers through compliance, and addressing any inquiries regarding tax-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the tax department in ensuring efficient tax collection processes.
  • Provide expert advice on complex tax matters.
  • Review and analyse tax returns for compliance.
  • Coordinate tax audits and ensure timely responses.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies.
  • Implement strategic initiatives to improve tax compliance.
  • Assist in the training and development of team members.
  • Advocate best practices in tax management.
  • Participate in legislative initiatives that impact tax law.
  • Evaluate operational effectiveness and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • ACCA/CIMA/ICA qualification required
Experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience in tax administration and management
