Outdoor Educator

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Outdoor Educator to lead engaging educational and recreational activities in outdoor settings. The ideal candidate will teach practical skills and ensure participant safety while fostering teamwork and group cohesion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement outdoor activities and expeditions, including risk assessments.
• Deliver educational programmes adhering to national curriculum standards.
• Provide mentoring and feedback to participants to enhance their skills.
• Maintain equipment and ensure all safety regulations are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for marketing and development.
• Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes all participants.
• Adhere to company policies related to health and safety.
• Lead workshops on environmental conservation and awareness.
• Evaluate and improve programmes based on participant feedback.
• Engage in community outreach to promote outdoor education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Master's degree in Outdoor Education or Recreation is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in outdoor settings

Technical Skills

• Environmental Education

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Outdoor Leader qualification
• Mountain Leader or similar certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Leave No Trace principles: Knowledgeable in sustainability practices for outdoor activities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations: Experience engaging with people from varied backgrounds and cultures.
