Automotive Brake Specialist

Job Description

As an Automotive Brake Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining brake systems in a variety of vehicles. This role requires a keen understanding of braking technologies and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Conducting inspections and preventive maintenance on brake systems.
• Replacing and/or repairing faulty brake components such as calipers, drums, rotors, and brake pads.
• Performing test drives to evaluate brake system performance.
• Communicating with customers regarding their brake system needs and recommendations.
• Coordinating with other service team members for seamless operations.

Requirements

Education

• Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Qualified Brake Specialist status (desirable)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working as an Automotive Brake Specialist or similar role.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of different types of brake systems and components
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management skills

Soft Skills

• Good communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexibility and adaptability

Advantageous

• Experience working with hydraulic braking systems: Extensive knowledge of hydraulic brake components and diagnosis.
• Experience of welding and fabrication (desirable): Skills in welding and fabricating parts as necessary.
