Job Description

As an Animal Control Worker, you will be at the forefront of animal welfare in Birmingham. Your role involves the management, care, and protection of animals in need, ensuring their wellbeing and promoting responsible pet ownership across the community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess animal facilities for compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage emergency calls regarding animal welfare and provide immediate assistance.
  • Lead rescue efforts for injured or abused animals, ensuring their safe transport.
  • Work with law enforcement on investigations related to animal cruelty.
  • Conduct health assessments and administer necessary vaccinations to animals.
  • Provide information and resources to the public about animal care and welfare.
  • Document all case interactions and outcomes per organisational procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with shelters and animal rescue organisations.

Requirements

Education
  • Higher education qualifications in animal care or related field are advantageous
Experience
  • Experience in an animal rescue or enforcement agency is preferred
