Job Description

As a Hydroelectric Plant Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of hydroelectric power generation equipment. This hands-on position requires a keen understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure our plants operate safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance including inspections and repairs on key equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in plant operations.
  • Work closely with engineers to implement improvements in system performance.
  • Ensure all operational procedures are followed to maintain safety standards.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Manage stock of spare parts and coordinate the ordering process.
  • Assist in training new technicians on equipment operations and safety protocols.
  • Engage with environmental compliance measures to support sustainability efforts.
  • Assist in emergency response procedures as needed.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and make recommendations for upgrades.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship or vocational training in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in power plant maintenance and repair
