Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tool Design Drafter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting tools for manufacturing processes, requiring strong attention to detail and proficiency in CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed technical drawings and models of tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to refine and modify tool designs based on feedback.
  • Conduct design reviews and improve existing designs to optimise production processes.
  • Ensure all designs meet compliance with safety and industrial standards.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to provide specifications and support during the production phase.
  • Execute quality assurance inspections on completed tools to ensure they meet project specifications.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the design process.
  • Keep comprehensive records of all design processes and revisions made throughout projects.
  • Engage in professional development to remain at the forefront of technical design skills.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing insights and best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Additional qualifications in manufacturing processes preferred
Experience
  • Experience in tool design or mechanical drafting within a manufacturing environment.
