Job Description

The Drawbridge Tender is responsible for operating drawbridges to ensure the safe passage of water vessels. The ideal candidate will monitor vessel traffic, manage drawbridge operations, and communicate effectively with team members and vessel operators.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of drawbridges and coordinate with marine traffic control.
• Respond to emergencies related to drawbridge operations efficiently.
• Conduct tests and maintenance on drawbridge systems regularly.
• Provide assistance to boat operators as needed during bridge operations.
• Document all bridge operations accurately for safety audits.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or training in drawbridge operation and safety

Experience

• Prior experience in drawbridge operation or marine transport is desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Skills

• Radio communication equipment
• Bridge operating systems and software

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Valid driver's license

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to work flexible hours: Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
