Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cardiff. The ideal candidate will assess insurance applications, evaluate risks, and determine coverage terms for various insurance products in both personal and commercial lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments for new and renewal policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting underwriting decisions.
• Engage with external stakeholders for improved understanding of risk management.
• Assess reinsurance needs and collaborate with the reinsurance department.
• Participate in cross-departmental meetings for continued development.
• Review claims history to adjust underwriting standards as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• Master's degree in Finance or related field is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience as an Underwriter in the insurance industry

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Data Interpretation

• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute)

Languages

• English: Fluent
