Chemical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Technician to support our laboratory operations. The successful candidate will assist in analysing materials and conducting tests to ensure compliance with industry standards, working closely with chemists and other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analysis on a variety of materials following standard operating procedures.
• Conduct maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Assist in the development of new testing methodologies and procedures.
• Document and report test results accurately and timely.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes.
• Train junior staff and provide guidance on laboratory practices.
• Order and maintain inventory for laboratory supplies and reagents.
• Contribute to research projects and studies as required.

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): Experience using LIMS for tracking samples and data.
• Experience with ISO 17025 standards: Knowledge of quality management systems and standards in laboratory practice.
