Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Belfast team. The successful candidate will assess insurance applications, determine risks, and set premium rates. This role requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of the insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate risk factors and assess the acceptability of insurance applications.
• Set appropriate policy terms and conditions to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with actuarial teams to analyse premiums and loss data.
• Review policy renewals and make necessary adjustments to terms.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on industry changes.
• Prepare reports detailing underwriting activities and outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field

Experience

• 5+ years experience in underwriting or risk management

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Financial Analysis

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Time Management

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)
• Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Personal Lines Underwriting: Experience handling personal insurance applications and client relations.
• Project Management Skills: Ability to manage projects efficiently and ensure timely delivery.
