Signal Helper

Job Description

As a Signal Helper, you'll support our Signal Technicians by assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of signal and communication equipment vital for railway operations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our extensive railway network.

Responsibilities

• Support Signal Technicians with the installation and setup of signalling systems.
• Conduct regular checks on signalling equipment to ensure it operates correctly and safely.
• Document and report any detected faults to the senior technician promptly.
• Work on the ground alongside Signal Engineers to facilitate repair work.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safety protocols.
• Engage in continuous training and skill development to enhance performance.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred

Experience

• Some experience in related fields such as electrical or construction work is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Basic electrical testing skills
• Familiarity with signalling systems

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Flexibility and adaptability

Certifications

• Current valid driver's license
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with signal testing equipment: Hands-on experience with tools used in the installation and maintenance of signage.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations: Knowledge of compliance standards in the railway industry.
