Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Field Reporter to join our dynamic news team. As a Field Reporter, you will be responsible for collecting and reporting on news stories from the field, covering a wide range of topics, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Gather news stories, conduct interviews, and collect information from various sources.
• Write clear and concise news reports for publication.
• Cover live events, breaking news, and feature stories.
• Work closely with camera operators and multimedia journalists to capture footage.
• Edit and package news stories for broadcast.
• Develop contacts with key individuals and organizations.
• Stay updated with current events and industry trends.
• Adhere to ethical standards while reporting.
• Meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field
• Demonstrable experience in field reporting may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience

• At least 2-3 years of experience in journalism, preferably in field reporting.

Technical Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interviewing and reporting skills
• Proficient in researching and fact-checking
• Proficient in using digital recording and editing equipment

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing situations
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in live reporting or broadcast journalism: Hands-on experience in delivering live news coverage.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency: Ability to conduct interviews and reports in multiple languages is a plus.
