Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our Newcastle clinic. The role involves diagnosing and treating various animal conditions, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose illnesses.
  • Surgical responsibilities including soft tissue and orthopedic procedures.
  • Provide care for a diverse range of species including dogs, cats, and exotic pets.
  • Educate clients on animal care and preventative measures.
  • Lead a team of veterinary nurses and support staff in daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.
  • Manage client communications and consultations effectively.
  • Support fundraising and community engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development and training workshops.
  • Foster a culture of compassion and excellence in the workplace.

Requirements

Education
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Postgraduate qualifications or specialisation are advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience preferred
