Job Description

We are seeking an experienced African Studies Professor to join our esteemed academic institution. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in African history, culture, and societies, and will be passionate about teaching and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate seminars and workshops to promote student interaction and learning.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research projects to foster comprehensive understanding.
  • Establish connections with local communities to promote African Studies.
  • Contribute to the development of international study programmes related to African Studies.
  • Assist in the organisation of academic conferences and events.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the visibility of African Studies within the institution.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion within the department.
  • Conduct evaluations of academic materials and resources.
  • Participate in training and development workshops to enhance teaching methodologies.

Requirements

Education
  • Ph.D. in African Studies or a related field
Experience
  • Prior experience in teaching African Studies or related subjects at a higher education institution is required.
