Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Sign Language Teacher to join our educational institution. In this role, you will instruct and support students in learning sign language as a vital means of communication, especially for the hearing impaired. Your expertise will help foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Design interactive and informative lessons specifically for sign language instruction.
  • Monitor student attendance and academic performance, providing insights to the education team.
  • Encourage student participation through inclusive and engaging teaching techniques.
  • Collaborate with external experts to bring diverse perspectives into the classroom.
  • Implement differentiated instruction to cater to various learning styles.
  • Prepare students for assessments in sign language proficiency.
  • Assist in developing and updating the curriculum to meet educational standards.
  • Promote awareness of deaf culture and communication practices.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Foster relationships with local community organisations related to deaf education and advocacy.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Specialisation in Sign Language Education is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in teaching kindergarten or primary school students.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Teaching Methodologies

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous
