Firesetter

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Firesetter to join our team. As a Firesetter, you will be responsible for creating controlled fire scenarios for research purposes, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and collaborating with other professionals to analyse and interpret fire behaviour data.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire experiment projects and manage testing schedules.
• Conduct risk assessments associated with fire testing procedures.
• Foster relationships with external fire safety organizations for collaboration.
• Regularly inspect and perform maintenance on fire testing equipment.
• Promote a safety-first culture within the workplace.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Master's degree in Fire Safety Engineering is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire testing and research.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of fire modelling software
• Systems thinking

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• Professional Certified Marketer (PCM)
• Fire Marshal Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Publication record in fire science journals: Demonstrated contributions to the field through research publications.
